Our Puppy's First Visit To The Beach

Today we took our puppy Bosun to the beach. We live on the coast, but our beach is a prize winning white sandy beach and dogs are not allowed on it.... so we got in the car, and went down the coast, to one of the little bays on the coast line, where you are allowed to take your dogs on the beach... My only problem is that it was a pebble beach, I was concerned Bosun would injure himself... but he was not bothered at all. For those of you who have not met Bosun yet.... He is the little black dog... He loved the water, and showed no fear, His friend a white husky called Hob, played very happily together for nearly an hour... with tennis balls and a frisbee. Us humans had a good time playing with them too... a nice time was had by all... and a bonus, is that Bosun is now fast asleep...... yyeeyyy not requiring any attention from us at all.... lol's... Here they allowed dogs on the beach.Till nine and after that no dogs. But it is plenty of time for them to roam and play with others there. This is quite a scene but loved it.

Now I miss the golden lab we had who loved the water too. Dogs are so much fun at the beach, good you have a dog friendly one nearby.

Bosun had a surprised look on his face when he went out of his depth for the first time. It was like he was thinking 'oh that is new' lol... I find it fascinating how animals just throw themselves into the water, it is not like they have been taught to swim. Yet off they go, once out of their depth their little legs go into hyper-drive. They just start swimming like they have been doing it all their lives.

Thats nice. I remembered the first time we brought our dog to the beach it was so scared of the water he ended up just resting on the coast.

aw, looks like all 'd a most brilliant day! must admit i was kinda shocked someone'd 've a husky in those parts - what a beaut! that lil mr. bosun's such a cutie 'n looked most content to be playin' in the waters with his friend. thanks fer all the pics! big hugs 'n love.

So adorable :D I really wish I had a beach nearby where I could take my dog. There always seems to be a special connection that happens with people and their pooches at the beach, such joy on both pooch and owner :D Thanks for sharing :)
