We want to get another cat soon

I would love to get another cat. I know it won't replace Kitty, but growing up we've always had cats. In both of my foster homes we've each reached a peak of six cats at one time, but for the most part it was three or four cats on a regular basis. I live in an apartment building, so one indoor cat will do us. I'm waiting to get paid and then we'll go to the animal shelter and adopt either a cat that has been an indoor cat previously or a kitten. There's a fee but they've all been thoroughly checked over and plus it's a charity organisation that I believe in, and first vet visit is free. I'm not used to being without cats. Since I moved out as a young pup and lived on my own and when I was first married, I was without a cat but I been wanting one for a long time, and then when someone wanted to adopt out their sweet little Kitty I jumped at the chance. Now that she's gone, it feels so empty and quiet again... I miss my furbaby.

It sounds as if you have thought this out well and are planning ahead.

It's tough to lose an animal @Masihi . I've lost both dogs and cats and it rips at your soul.

It was extremely hard to get over it, the emotions were quite strong. But cats are therapeutic, I find, me suffering from depression and anxiety disorder, it's really nice to have a pet you can cuddle with and play with.
