Been Trying to Keep Up Here While at Work, but not Succeeding

In June I purchased a Verizon Ellipses tablet in order to continue to bubble while on breaks and lunches at my full-time cashiering job. It worked well for that. Since I'm not bubbling much these days—but, I've not left completely—I've used it for other sites too that I've checked out recently. Once I started here, I've tried to check my notifications and new discussions on my tablet while at work, but I've not succeeded as yet. The font is just too small for me to read any part of anything. I tried enlarging the font on the settings for the tablet, but that didn't help. Today, I might see if I can reset the font on the browser, but I don't know that it gives the same options that my desktop browser does. If I can't make it work, I won't be around while working either job. When working windows, I don't have time to be online at all. Then, I'll just be around either before working for the day, or in between both jobs or late at night.

If you use Chrome, to enlarge the fonts simply press CTRL +, to get back to standard font CTRL 0.

@MarshaMusselman If your tablet is an Android, it must be a version of Chrome, but it's true it is different.

I know how to get into chrome to enlarge the text, but on my desktop things are large enough to see. I don't know what browser my tablet uses, but I figured it out already, thanks, Anna.

I bought a tablet so that I could bubble easier too. Now that my younger daughter is older (3yo) now, whenever she sees me using the tablet, she'd want to use, so I have to keep my tablet away while she's around. Hence, I usually mylot in the early morning while they are sleeping. Can't you enlarge the font easily by dragging your fingers on the tablet's screen?

@MarshaMusselman Glad you have found the way. Sometimes it's more convenient to use tablet, though I still prefer to use keyboard to type.

Only by starting two fingers close together and pulling them apart. Someone below explained it to me.

@kaka135 That's why I spend time on my desktop when at home. If I'm on vacation I'll use a desktop too as I'm much quicker on it.

@MarshaMusselman My ipad posts in here pretty well. i use it sometimes when I go to bed and I can't sleep. I still have to zoom some, but not as much as with my iPhone. I am just glad that there are other options besides the computer for posting in mylot.

most jobs I have had don't allow staff use of personal computers or tablet devises on the premises unfortunately.

@MarshaMusselman yes the danger of theft or damage to computers in the workplace would be problematic too.

I was carrying it with me and keeping it under my sweater, sight unseen, but was told I can't do that. I now turn it off each time and keep it in my locker. It does make my breaks pass too quickly, but at least I feel like I'm doing something.

I find it tedious to navigate the site on a phone or tablet. I like to open a lot of tabs on this site and that's not the easiest thing to do on a mobile.

@MarshaMusselman Yeah I mostly use the computer unless I'm outside and feel like checking my notifications.

@cahaya1983 I mostly use the computer too, but when I'm at work, then I use my tablet. Since I work full-time, I'm there quite a bit of five days. If I didn't check the site out with my tablet, no one would see me around a whole lot. During the warmer months, I also work outside the home cleaning windows with my crew. I don't take my tablet with me for that or I'd never get the work done.

I don't think it's possible on the tablet. Well, I do have more than one tab opened up I guess, but they are hidden and hard to navigate. When at work, though, that's my only option. What I hate is having to go to a different page to get all my apostrophe's in the proper places. If I miss a letter or something, I just leave it. I tried to edit a comment once, but that took forever.

Well it does seem MyLot is better used on a computer. But never say never. Maybe one day they will come out with a mobile app. But that remains to be seen. I am also on Bubblews but they have been going down a lot for maintenance a lot lately. This is by far the best site though.

I have similar problem. When I open notification, it's even only show the blank page. In this case, I only use smartphone, not tablet. If this happen to tablet too, which has wider screen, perhaps it's because of the site isn't responsive enough to any screen size

I agree that the site just isn't well suited for mobile browsing. You can enlarge the text on your Ellipsis' screen by putting two fingers on the screen and spreading them apart. It's going to be a pain in the neck because you're going to have to keep doing it for every page, but it will make it readable and easier to navigate. Honestly, I find using myLot on a tablet to be such a pain that I'm more likely to use my tablet as a hot spot on the road and just connect to the site using my laptop.

I tried spreading the page to enlarge the font the other day, it it didn't work. With our great explanation I got it this time. I don't have a smart phone or I'd probably already know that. Heading to m shift now.
