Do You Ever Play Board Games with Your Family?

Two of my grown-up sons are visiting and we have just had a night of playing Rummikub. It's like the card game rummy, only you use numbered tiles and you can rearrange each other's tiles to suit you. We laughed hysterically as they teased me as they always have. I am so happy to have this time with them. Do you still play board games or card games with your family?

Games are good for children to play. They offer great opportunities for bonding and give them experiences of turn taking and counting (when they're little) and strategy when they are older.

My grandma taught me how to play gin rummy and backgammon when I was a child. Although my grandma passed away years ago, I still love to play those games!

@moffittjc I associate certain board games and card games with people from my past. We probably played them a lot when I was a child.

No, we don't play board games and I have really missed it. When I first moved in with my brother, we would play board games but haven't in a long time.

@Sheilamarie78 We ended up selling all of our games when we moved from Vegas back to Tennessee. I think we should look into buying new games now.

Rummikub is one of our favorite games to play! My two kids and I still enjoying playing board games. We've got quite a collection of them, so we never get tired of playing the same games over and over! Definitely fun quality time together!

We always do during the summer holidays and long weekends. The kids love to play scrabble with me and chess with their father.

I haven't played any for quite some time. The last one I played was The Game of Life. It was fun. If I want to play now I'd have to choose the time when my toddler sleeps otherwise she'd hijack the entire game.

I play Scrabble with a friend and a Spanish friend who is learning English. It helps her learn new words and uses the words she already knows. I play board games sometimes when I visit my daughter she also likes doing jigsaws. We often end up chatting while doing a jigsaw :D
