I enjoy climbing up hills and mountains. I just love the smell of the pure air there and to be covered in the clouds. Recently we took a small vacation in cabin up a hill.. it was a daily experience to float in the clouds.. or at least have the clouds float around you.. look down on the small world beneath us and feel so uplifted. I so enjoyed my holiday that I am looking forward to going there next summer. Do you enjoy the sights and smell up in the mountains? Could you share your experience?

It's been years since I've been in such a situation and now that I'm retired I've become content to simply stay home leaving only to grocery shop occasionally. If I could turn back time I'd make it a point to move to such a place so that staying home would be more enjoyable for me and my furmily.

@crazyhorseladycx I guess you do have more to forage from the mountains. I love the taste of the fresh water from the springs.. and the wild herbs too.. :) Now I really want to go there.. I love the peace of it all. It seem so sacred.

@crazyhorseladycx There you go making me all nostalgic.. I love the sights sounds and smells of the rare mountain air. Yeah not to forget the small streams and waterfalls. I just love them. Isn't life harder up hill than in the plains?

@arthurchappell The view is truly amazing and the smell of the pure air is something I can never forget. Being among the clouds and not being able to see the person next to you is another wonderful experience by itself.

Yes, I have always enjoyed the mountains. It's gives the feeling of being on top of the world. I also enjoy the nature in which can be found up in the mountains. The birds, squirrels, rabbits, deer. My hubby's dad has a cabin up in the mountains(a vacation home), and the deer will actually come up on the porch.

@sofssu We used to go about every 3 -4 months. Now we don't go that often, since we moved so far away.

I surely do, though we have only hills vicinity of my hometown. Most of them are flat tops, but the bike rides through them are terrific, more so during the rainy season when they happen to be green.

@sofssu Bikes surely make the trip wonderful. I am planning to climb the highest mountain in my state this October. Although it is no more than 5000 ft in height. Quite unlike the North Indian mountains, which are very cool and have greater altitudes.

I may have climbed a hill, but I have never climbed a mountain. I think I am happiest near the ground. It's not the going up, it's the coming down.

@Rollo1 Climbing down is the easier part. Climbing up takes more time and energy. However, this holiday in the cabin was a steep drive up for most part.. we did some trekking everyday though.

Yeah, I also climb a mountain in the early of this month. The elevation of this mountain is about two thousand meters. I had a very interesting experience during my climbing. When I began my climb, it was cloudy. It became sunny when I climbed one hour later. When I nearly reached the peak of the mountain, it was raining cats and dogs. Such changeable weather was quite rare in the city.

@Simon1223 As the altitude changes so does the weather.. I love the cool weather up there. Glad you had an interesting experience.

I love nature and most of my holidays have had a part of nature included - mountains, forests, sea, gardens. Back home I have created a lot of greenery around me.

A few years ago we lived on a hilltop at the edge of a city that often had low cloud. Our property was often surrounded by cloud, even though we weren't up a mountain. I do love the fresh air and freedom of the outdoors though, no matter what the height.

I don't like mountains much. I don't enjoy heights. You can get fresh air at the seaside as well.

@MALUSE The air on the seaside isn't really the same as the are in higher altitudes, I do love the sea though.
