He had the time of his life

A few days ago Diesel dog had a play date at our house. As soon as they met each other both dogs had a couple of sniffs at each other and then played and played. Every now and then one had to assert his authority and they would sit down and sulk for a minute then off they would go again, running and playing with Diesel's squeakies, occasionally stopping for a drink or coming to their owners for a little attention. It was fascinating watching the pair of them, they were like two children, playing, fighting and making up. It is a shame that Diesel can't have another dog to play with when we are out but there isn't enough room. The dog he was playing with lives on a farm with horses. We aren't sure how Diesel dog will go with horses whether he will run at them and want to play. The horses are very gentle so hopefully they will ignore him and he will get the message.

Usually dogs go well with horses, why not to bring him where the other dog lives? You should check the reaction.

@LadyDuck We will certainly try. But my son and I have a memory of being out walking past a herd of cows and Diesel Dog jumped under the fence. The cows started making lots of noise and more cows joined them so we hurried away. I think Deez will be fine now tho

@glenniah Dogs have not the same reaction in front of cows and horses, they usually prefer the horses.

@Ragnarok8 Dogs are the best aren't they, if only they could talk sometimes and let us know what is going on for them.

Dogs can really be fun to watch when they play with one another . Sometimes . they would seemingly bite each other , but i think it's their way of just being playful .

Yes I think mostly they are being playful. Just sometimes one or the other might want to show who is boss, but not for long

Well isn't it time for Diesel to return the visit and find out how he and the horses would react to each other?

Your dog must be so happy while playing with his friend! You should go over to the other's place, nothing will happen.

It's good that they got along. Do you have a doggy day care nearby? Here they have places where dogs can go to play together.

@Rollo1 They do have these here but they are very expensive. Hopefully now we know he and TJ are friends they can 'play' more often

@tampa_girl Hi, yes they really had lots of fun and Diesel dog slept soundly all night. He thinks he is a lot younger than he really is
