Money Is The Root Of All Evil!!

Money... Thats the topic, we all want it and sometimes think it will make us happy. Sure you can buy nice things with it, but whats the real worth of money in general. Imagine a world without a monetary system, where rent or bills didnt exist, everyone lived in equal made homes and the food was free. What would you need a job for or the need to go to college? Nowadays students graduate from college after taking loans and have to slave to for years to pay their college debts and are forced to move back with their parents until their on the feet agiain which would take years! Many people spend their lives trying to attain money thinking it will make them happy and end up missing out on important part of their lives which is a simple thing called living. Life is very short, value what really matters in your life and dont focus all your energy on a piece of paper that has no true value other than legal tender.

money buys 'things', 'things' rarely make folks content fer the long term. there's somethin' missin' in their lives, schtuff that money'll not buy. some 'f the poorest people in the world 've a better sense 'f family 'n community. to me that's 'f more importance.

It is the Love of money, not money that is evil. Money is essential for a lot of necessities of life and unless we work - unless we are on welfare - no one gives out free money.

I don't think money is the root of all evil, it is human greed that makes the world a sick and sorry place to be in sometimes. Money allows us to do lots of things and acquire our daily necessities w/c we would not be able to have without cash/credit. If money wasn't around, we'd still be back to the bartering days of yore.

I don't know how all food could be free. Some people would have to work to grow it. So the other people would be getting free food, but it costs the farmers something. It's not wrong to work hard or even to try to succeed and make money. It's wrong for money to be the most important thing in your life, though.

Just as fire if properly used is an asset so is money. Money is needed for us to live and survive.

To quote the sainted and late lamented Spike Milligan: "Money can't buy you happiness but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery."

If money did not exist then we would revert to the system that previously applied, which is bartering. How many people would actually survive if they had to build their own home and either harvest their own food or hunt for it? Money actually serves a very useful purpose and the original quote is "The love of money is the root of all evil".

The problem does not lie on the paper or coins but on the human beings. Greed and the search for power instead of reaching for real values are the real problems.

I am going to agree and disagree to that. Agree to it, because of reasons you stated and many more like that. Disagree because if it were not money, people would be stealing, and snatching and murdering and not feeling guilty about it all.

I read a saying recently: "Of course there is no happiness in money. But i haven't ever seen sad man on a rich yacht with girls"

not the money but humans do, imagine the money and how it can solve lots of problems for lots of people , when you use it in good , and give for the needy ,,, and never hold it like its your life jacket while you have lots of it then money is something else i consider it as a test for any one if you have it , then what you gona do with it ? on what your going to spend it ? and if you dont have it then what you going to do without it ? how your going to act and what you will do

Money is not evil. Evil is inside us. It's oimur mind which is evil. We all have a God and demon residing inside us. It's upto us whom we awake God or demon

Money is evil to a point. But unfortunately, in this damaged world we live in, we need it to survive. I agree, we should live in a balanced equal world. I can only imagine what life would be like. We would have more time to be with out families and to all the things we should be doing.

It is really worrying what things people will do for money and what evil acts they will do to get to the top.

As @Phredwreck says, the original is 'the love of money...' money itself makes life easier, otherwise we would have to resort to bartering what we have with someone else to get what we want, and they may not want what we have to offer. We would all still have to work otherwise how would we get any food, clothes or housing?
