B was a good site, MyLot is much better, though. Pays when $10 are reached. I write on topics Which I find interesting. Hope you like them, too. I never read posts On computers and i-phones. Don't interest me. Some members rate much. Do they read before rating? I am not so sure. They do it because They want to earn much money. It is tit-for-tat. I know some members Who have come over from B. So I'm not alone. I will not name names. Soon I will know more members, Have new myLot friends. Sadly, I find here Plagiarists and cheats, too. Away with them all! We are virtual. May die a virtual death Before the real one. If we are lucky, We can find another site On the internet. Writing a haiku, Hah, that is easily done. Do try it some day. Won't bore you longer. Must write another brill post. To impress you all. ----- The 300-year old Haiku poem has its own distinct discipline: - Each complete poem has only three lines, totalling 17 syllables. - The first line must be five syllables - The second line must be seven syllables - The third line must be five syllables When these rigid conditions are met, the result can be a satisfying word picture. Note that the subject or content of a Haiku poem does not matter, as long as the basic 5-7-5 rule applies.

I applaud your skill And admire your persistence: The result has charm. I would insist that A true Haiku is more deep - More complex by far!

(I would not pretend that either of the above verses comply with the definition of Haiku, of course, except in the number of syllables)

@owlwings @sofssu @Rollo1 I know very well that haikus deal with nature and contain profound thoughts. There are enough of that kind already. I felt more like writing silly ones instead of pondering budding cherry blossoms and snow falling on cedars.

I don't think that there will be any more haikus from me. Write some funny poems yourself!

A slew of Haiku. Traditionally, Haiku are supposed to be about nature, Senryu are about human foibles. Both use the same structure of 17 syllables.

Haven't written any haiku since college. Should probably write a few again someday just to get the rust off.

You are so good in writing Haiku poems, I will never ever be able to do this. I have also encountered scammers, spammers and plagiarists, I think they are on every site.
