Activity Number

I understand if you find this discussion is boring since it's about number. I'm just obsessed with number - sometimes I can't help but talking about it, even if it interests no one but myself. With this post, my Activity Number or the number inside the () next to my username will hit 6000! I had actually targeted to hit that by end of September; but yeah, I missed it by one whole week. It's easy to say that I should've been more active - but no, I'm just going to blame it on being away for a pleasure plus business trip during the last week of September. Are you happy with how your Activity Number is progressing? Or you don't even bother with that figure at all - which I'll understand too...

It certainly does help to be active, but how relevant the numerical value of the activity is remains to be seen.

@Asylum and @arthurchappell (Oh, you two are practically neighbors ) Yes, I also cannot see any particular relevance of the number - other than it amuses me to use mine as a way to track my own activities...

@sishy7 Yes, Arthur lives in the same city as I do, but he is wise enough to avoid the city centre when I go there in order to ensure that he does not bump into me.

I can certainly understand that... If it interests you at all, you're about twice as active as me in posting for reaching 2200+ within a month...

How boring! Seriously though, it does not interest me to any great extent. My own figure is not much greater than yours, despite the fact that I have been a member for 9 years. You have now got me wondering just how relevant this would be to the remuneration here. I know that in previous times the actual volume of content was the critical factor, but there is no way of knowing whether that is still relevant. I may create a spreadsheet to monitor my daily activity and daily earnings in order to establish if there is a major relation between them.

Me and my number is about as boring as you and your spreadsheet! No really, I can reason to why your number is such... It's because most of that was accumulated in the old version when we could only get 2 points max on any discussion. About half of mine was added since I came back on this new layout when we get one point for each post (discussion/response/comment). As for earning, I settle to the idea that it's no longer as straight forward as 'I type I earn; you type you earn' as in the old version. Now it's more 'I type I may earn' depending on how much interaction I get from my post (discussion/response/comment).

@sishy7 How dare you call my lovely spreadsheet boring? There is no such thing as a boring spreadsheet. I do have a passion for Microsoft Excel and tend to use any excuse to use it. It is without doubt the program that I would miss most if I did not have a computer.

@Asylum Do you use it to edit pictures? I just found out the other day from another online friend that she's been using Excel to edit her photos (add background colors, frames, etc.) I was like, whaaat...? I've been using Excel for ages and never knew its photo-editing features - I've used it solely for spreadsheets.

It's the number inside the () next to your username. As of now yours say (1243). But it will change each time you post a discussion/response/comment.

He he... yeah, I'm a bit strange when it comes to number milestones. On the other site, I spotted the exact bubble #10 million first even before admin there announced it in a post. Pretty sure I was the only bubbler who's weird enough to bother keeping an eye on things like that...

That's not one I've looked at that much. But I did notice when it passed 1000.

You average 100 postings a day so far, that's awesome! I aim for half of that but couldn't even do it. 10 days have passed since this discussion, and my number has only increased by almost 200 - an average of only 20 postings a day...

Hah! I should have done a screen shot too when I reached 3000!!! I am happy with how my post number is growing. Doesn't really motivate me but I like how it's getting higher and higher.

Yeah, I knew it's not going to stay on an even round number for long so I shot it straight away... Now I can use it as a mark of when I hit it in relation to my future milestones - will I hit 7000 in a month time, 2 months, 3 months...?

Only by barely 200 postings in 10 days... not fast enough considering others are able to average even 100 postings a day!

Yes, it is - it's a lot faster than your former account on the old version.

It's going up, not sure if it's going up at the rate it should but I never really pay attention to the number, honestly.

I'd say for it nearing 2k in just a month is a very good rate...
