Will You Please Do My Laundry?

October 10, 2015 5:18pm CST
After yet another night of poor sleep, I had to wake on the early side to take my daughter to her first ever volleyball game. Following the game, I took my youngest two children to the zoo. Spending more than three hours on my feet caused my feet to revolt. They are now sitting on the sofa along with the rest of me. I'd be content to sit right here the rest of the evening. Instead I am staring at a pile of laundry that truly needs to be addressed. I also have a son who will be calling me sometime in the next hour or two for a ride home. (that means no wine) I should at least move to the other couch so that I can reach the laundry while I sit.

No wonder you are tired - going round the zoo must have been exhausting. Why not let the laundry wait - I would.

That's a busy day without a good night's sleep. I hope you get a good rest tonight!

May be you could cut down a bit of your time that you give to your kids if that's possible so that you can do your own laundry and not ask us to do it for you

I find it a lot easier, better and, yes, cheaper, to bring mine into the cleaners/laundromat and let them wash and fold it!

I remember what it was like to be a busy MOM with youngsters calling the shots. Take a deep breath and know before you know it, your babies will be away at college or married and you won't have them around... and you will miss that... Mine are now 34, 39 and 45, I still have a blast with them and I don't want them to be youngster again but I can't forget those early years. Enjoy them while you have them.

I always feel bad for wishing these times away, especially since I know first hand how fleeting this time is after losing my oldest child 2 years ago.
