Good Sunday everyone! I just came home from the grocery store. And I saved quite a bit. I used three $1.00 coupons and the store 5% off of $25.00 one too. They had the store brand Swiss cheese on sale. Bernie likes that so I bought him one of those. It was on sale for $1.77. It’s going to be a decent day here around 71 degrees and sunny. Here is hoping for a nice relaxing day.

You should try to pay more for what you buy in order to support the store. They are probably struggling to try to make a few million dollars a year.

@Asylum They make plenty. I try to support my local store. But we also go to Walmart every other week or so as many items are a dollar or more cheaper there. I can get a Freschetta pizza over a dollar less at Walmart vs. the local store.

@Asylum THey don't take IOU's! If we pay more they will be waiting for the payout!

I am up and online quickly then I have to get ready for church. After that I need to visit my mom at the nursing home and then get a few things done around the house. Have a great day sounds like good savings to me.

I wish I could afford to buy real groceries, I'd start clipping coupons myself. I just don't have the funds to really buy food other than lunch meat, bread, eggs, a few other essentials.

#PhredWreck I get quite a bit of store brands too. Like bread, chips, eggs, orange juice, etc. Coupons.com has lots of food coupons. I stick to the same list almost every week, rarely buy more that the essentials. I get Bernie some canned pasta and ravioli.

@NeldaHoxie And I had the whole store almost to myself. Like to go early, no one blocking the aisles, etc.

The cheese is really cheap. i can never find something so cheap in my place. The only comfort is that fruits and vegetables are available at all hours, and the price is quite affordable, though not really cheap. Our country imports 90% of our food from everywhere else.

I, too, go where the sales are. I am not averse to shopping at any store. What matters is that I am able to get what I need without spending a fortune.

@Susan2015 I divide my food money between Marketbasket (my favorite), a chain called Hannaford, and Walmart. I go where the prices fit my budget.

@Raelove Yes I try to do that too. I get most paper goods at Dollar General as the paper towels and kleenex and even the Chips Ahoy cookies can be cheaper there.

I love Swiss cheese also! I bought some laughing cow a couple of days ago, just love that stuff. Its mild here today, I have some wash hanging out on the line to dry. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday Susan, I'll be thinking of you come 4 o'clock when those Lions take the field.

They had a bad call right at the end of the game last week. And apparently, the Swiss cheese I bought doesn't have holes in it like it usually does. Bernie brought that to my attention and said it's not as soft without the holes because the air goes through it. What? But he says it still tastes good. @Juliaacv

I have two coupons at home being saved, one is for a dollar off my favorite protein bars, and one is a BOGO DQ blizzard (join the blizzard club and get those every month or so), I plan on using both this week.
