We all know jam is used as a spread on sandwiches but it can also be used as an ingredient. I have used it in Russian salads as also to moisten cakes. It can also be used to decorate cakes. Have you used jam as an ingredient?

Russian salad normally has fruits in them. A bit of jam instead of fruits will do no harm.

You must be talking of cup cakes. But if it is added as an ingredient in the cake mixture the cake turns moist

Jelly will melt but jam will remain intact

Russian salad has pineapple or apple pieces in them that sweeten the salad. Adding dollops of jam not only helps to get the required sweetness but the salad looks pretty
