The Internet Approved of Our Dinner

I have ordered groceries to be delivered tomorrow, but for tonight it was slim pickings. I mean there was some beef and chicken, but how to prepare it? We get tired of the same old, same old. I was mentally going through the contents of the fridge and freezer, trying to think of something that wasn't too boring to eat. Finally, I said "Frikadellers" and they murmured. Murmuring is like saying "if you make it, I will eat it, but I am not terribly excited". I decided that mozzarella burgers sounded interesting, as mozzarella is the only cheese I had and I had ground beef. So I decided to Google it to see if anyone ever made anything like that before. And sure enough, there was a recipe for mozzarella barbecue burgers. Barbecue sauce, of course! The missing bit from my plan. So, I mixed up the ground beef with shredded mozzarella and bread crumbs, made the patties and put barbecue sauce on them. I made mashed potatoes and green beans to go with them. Everyone loved them, but the best thing was that Google approved of my recipe idea. Do you ever search the internet for dinner ideas when you're tired of the same old thing, or when you don't know what to make with the ingredients you have?

I search for dinner ideas all the time. And so does my mother. She finds many different recipes online. And some real good ones.

It's sometimes helpful to get ideas. I liked that I got the idea and then found something like it so I knew it would be good.

@Rollo1 It is helpful. The internet is awesome. I do wish we had this years ago. I would have had the world by the nuts. If you know what I mean. And when it comes to food ideas, there are millions of them out there online.

Wow, sound like a very nice dinner after all. I think your family is more surprised than you, since they do not know that you can cook so well with limited ingredients at home. I think you can use the chance to plan for dinners in advance, and try different ways of cooking.

Yes! It feels great knowing that no matter how weird I first thought my recipe was, someone else (or more like many other people) on the planet actually thought of the same thing.
