Why In The World Did The Italian Police Raid Lamborghini

I understand that VW have upset a lot of countries with the use of defeat devices to beat emission tests on their diesel cars, but why in the world did the Italian police raid Lamborghini's office as everyone knows that you will never ever fit a diesel engine to one of their cars. To me it makes no sense at all, Lamborghini cars do not claim to be efficient or low emission cars, that just claim to be fast. Maybe the Italians have an issue with the German's now owning one off their best known and respected car brands, what do you guys think?

It may be just flexing their muscles. Letting them know that they still have a strong say about the Lamborghinni and VW better not try any funny stuff.

The Italian police uses Lamborghini cars on motorways, so they might have suspected something wrong. I think that it is just the beginning. I never understood why we were using different standards here to measure the emissions of diesel cars.
