Do you look at them now and...

wonder "What was I thinking?" I am talking about the old shows some of us used to watch. I remember I really liked Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. I watched it every week. Now looking back at them now they are so fake and silly. The sea monsters are a joke. Now the westerns I used to watch in the 50's and 60's are different. I think they are more realistic to the way life was and the clothes of that era than the ones they make now. Your thoughts.

Yes comparing the old movies to the movies right now, looks unbelievable stupid. We have a better technology when you compare them to the old ones. Yes their monsters look so fake. Even backgrounds are fake.

@celticeagle It might have been Full House. We used to love to watch that show but it just doesn't have the appeal that it used to.

@celticeagle not even a little.. mostly it was cheezy sound effects partnered with SLOW MOTION that was make you supposed to think something extraordinary was happening. NOT.

@minx267 ...I usually enjoy the storyline anyway. Are you watching the new Supergirl? It started last week. Looks like it will be good.

We used our imaginations more in the past. If the special effects weren't that good on TV it didnt' matter. Nowadays people have to have the special effects to be perfect and really show everything. I like Bonanza and Star Trek. I woudn't mind watching them again, but I don't have time for this kind of thing anymore.

When I was a kid we played outside all day and used a broom for our horse and other such things. Bonanza and Star Trek were big time shows when I was young. They have them on Metv on cable now.

@celticeagle but the kids nowadays don't go outside and play like we did. We reancted the plots of our favorite shows, played cowboys and Indians. . . Kids don't really do that anymore. something has been lost.

I liked Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. It was hokey but fun. Westerns like Bonanza, the Rifleman, Gunsmoke and more were fun to watch.

yes I know what you mean... some things travel with time, better than others... I used to be an avid fan of star trek, but now it has a really high cringe factor.... lol,

I have watched several of the old series of shows from the 1960s that I really enjoyed in those days. I have no idea what has been done to these because they are definitely not the same ones that I watched the first time around. The original ones were quite realistic and believable.
