I will be going for my first cruise soon. It is a short 7 nights cruise, with 3 sea days. This trip does not involve flight, as it starts from my country, and ends in my country. I have an idea about what to pack, since the places I will visit have almost the same weather pattern as my country. However, I am not so sure what to do on board the cruise. 3 sea days seem a bit too long. I doubt I can eat 6 square meals a day, and I do not have the intention to sleep whole day or surf internet (expensive), or stay in the casino or library whole day. Please share your cruising tips.

I've been on a lot of cruises, and you'll find plenty to do on the sea days. They usually organise competitions or demonstrations, and shows. You can relax by the pool or anywhere else you fancy. There are usually live bands playing in different bars and venues around the ship. Enjoy.

That sounds very nice! I just hope that my mother will enjoy it as much, because she does not know English at all. She is not likely to join any competition in this case, and she is unable to understand those shows and songs.

@scheng1 Well perhaps your mother will just enjoy the music or sitting out on deck watching the sea go by. Perhaps she could take a book to read whilst she's doing that. And the food! Anyone would enjoy the food.

We have been on a cruise once and we had 2 sea days. We mostly hang out on the deck near the small pool and relaxed. We did already use most attractions on the other days so there was not much to do on these two days other than relax. Our ship even had a library, so maybe you just want to relax reading a book or playing board games? The entertainment program was also pretty good with some games around the ship to keep you busy. We learned how to play Shuffleboard.

I wonder what is shuffleboard! In this case, I think there are a lot of things to do since I do not know what Shuffleboard is. I doubt I will want to hang out on the deck. I expect the weather to be really hot, and I have no intention to get sun burnt. I think I am more likely to hang out in the library, where it is air-conditioned.

@scheng1 Shuffleboard is a very old game that has been played on ships for hundred of years already. If there are matches, you should give it a try :-)
