So a few weeks ago I applied for a part time retail position at an Apple store. As I said in another post, I don't need the money, but I'd like to put aside a little more than I can right now. Also, I like Apple products and I like helping people, so the job would be fun. However, it has to be worth it. I see on the web that the pay for that position varies from $10 to $20 an hour, which is not much. It will cost me $7 or so in gas to get back and forth and if I factor in other wear and tear, it's more like $30.00. So if it was only a 4 hour shift at the mid range, after taxes I'd end up with about $10 a day net and I don't think I'd enjoy it so much as to make that worthwhile! On the other hand, 6 or 7 hours would net me more, so maybe it would be.
