Do You Lick Your Plate?

I do, I enjoy doing so. I like the feeling of the tongue going over the different flavors and textures. Plus it drives the dogs crazy, and I get my plates cleaner than they do!

@OneOfMany mine would eat the world if i let them, and clean every last spec of food, even odd things like romaine

@Jessicalynnt The one dog is talented at eating a sandwich and spitting out the lettuce. Our dogs in the past used to love carrots and would dig them out of the garden.

We used to have dogs that would, but the ones now don't do it.

No, I am afraid my plates remain rather messy. My husband doesn't lick his plate but with knife and fork still manages to get it so clean it looks like food was never on it.

@OneOfMany No, neither do I. So my plate is messy. It's why I prefer bowls and spoons.

@Rollo1 When the soup broth is thin you don't even need to lick anything, you just tilt your bowl and drink the rest. It's a fine alternative.

That's what we call skill. Unfortunately I don't have the patience to sit there long enough with utensils when I have a faster route!

Not literally, but I usually do finish everything on my plate.

Well that's close, but still not achieving licking satisfaction!

No, of course I do not, I am a "girl" can you imagine what people would think about me. They would probably close me in a sanitarium.

They would think you would be losing sanity if you just started it out of the blue. I'm a dog though. I was raised with dogs, I was born in the year of the dog, I have so many mixed bloods I'm a mutt, and that just says enough. :D

I guess I have licked my plate in the past if it was something fabulous and i was at home where manners didn't count so much.

Ha haa no i don't. I hope you don't get used to it and find yourself doing it in public. It will be embarrassing

It was hard to resist the urge in college! There was this one meal with tons of gravy and no bread to soak it up, but I couldn't just lick it in the meal room, so I grabbed a straw and still grossed everyone out! Oh well, it was tasty!
