Less is More

At the moment my mornings are filled with being a house "foreman" . . moving things around my daughters apartment so that the painting crew can finish off the renovations and paint work to the walls. Its mundane and oh so boring, but she doesnt have any wifi, so I cannot blog while there, instead I have read a few books and watched some movies. That is not a bad thing either, as I am as cool as a cucumber at the moment. CALM that is! Getting to my heading - Less is more . . . the Contractor told my daughter that I am quite funny because when he asked me if I would like a coke a cola refreshing drink, I replied: "I only drink STRONG Coffee and very Expensive Red wine" - he never answered me but he said to her - I am glad your mom isn't drinking any of the wine during her foreman-ship!! Then he made a very complimentary comment: "Your apartment is stunning, you have so little amazing furniture but everything fits just perfectly" She is minimalistic and refined - with such good taste and quality. #veryproudofmychildren

Morning Lany - yes, I always thought refined was an apropos term for I*. A sophisticated lady. (Takes after her Mom?)

That's funny. It sounds like she'll have a wonderful place when all of the renovations are completed.

That's a cute encounter. It would have been epic if you got the comment from the workers yourself instead of hearing it from your daughter. The dynamics would have been more interesting. I kinda like the minimalist approach of decorating a place too: less is more. It speaks volumes in terms of maintaining sophistication without sacrificing class.

Glad to see you got on so well with the workmen. We are weeks away from having a lot of work done on our house. I prey it all works out well.

We never know where compliments are going to come from. I'm glad you have something to do without any wifi.

Sounds like a heavenly spot she is making there. We could all take some lessons from your daughter and her minimalistic style. Or, I know I could anyway. LOL

You have spent your time well and in all that activity you managed to get a compliment too. What more can one expect?

At least he knows that you also have your sense of humor. I like minimalism too . It's much more easier to clean .

Sounds just right :D Sometimes less is more rewarding. I feel the same way about decorations and home interior design.

Hi, Lany. I do like a well put together home, clean lines, neat, but, then many say I have slight OCD. That is a wonderful compliment about 'I's' home. Ah, how would a day work without a strong cup of coffee, that aroma alone. I am sure since you are foreman, they are hopping to what needs to get done. :-)

It sounds like it will be lovely when it's finished - does that contractor quake in his boots when he sees you coming?
