let's say you met someone on the internet. you chat about all sorts of things. would you decide to meet him/her in real life too if he hadn't posted any kind of picture of himself?

If the chatting leads to meeting, it is imperative to see each other's picture. If you have not seen the other person's picture, how you are going to recognize him/her, when you decide to go on a date with him? I would like to see the picture of the other person, before deciding to date her.

@swissheart - No, I would not like to take a risk of going on a blind date. Although, I am firm believer of the view that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty but in this case, if someone wants to see me and I've already sent my picture, she should also reciprocate and if she does not, I will have to reconsider my decision.

@dpk262006 it sounds a little bit weird and it makes you wonder why she wouldn't send a picture right?

I think I would date that person and if I don't like the way she looks then I won't date her anymore. Simple as that.

It is unlikely I will date with someone who doesn't post his picture online. As it is very basic for you to learn this person from his look. If his look doesn't suit you, you may not even want to go out with him. So don't waste each other's time, I prefer to date with someone who is confident to post his own picture online.

yes there are people who steal pictures from the internet claiming to be their own

I would ask to see a photo and if they were evasive about it I would be suspicious. The photo would help to recognize them if we were to meet, so why hide what they look like? I would send my photo, avoiding the temptation to send a picture of George Clooney and claiming it was me.

yes I also noticed there are some people who also steal other "good looking" people's pictures

@arthurchappell and such an act would be enough to make you want to leave from that date?

@swissheart pretty obvious when they turn up looking nothing like their photo that they are dishonest

No. I'd like to know what someone looks like before I consider dating them. Would you?

I don;t think I would have the courage to do that. I love people who are confident about themselves
