Infested with sloths

Unfortunately, dear old Larry the laptop has been on a go-slow for the past couple of weeks, making most of my online activity a hit and miss proposition. Pages were timing out and it was taking an age to navigate around myLot, so I decided to give the place a miss while I tried to diagnose and fix the problem.
I think things are better now - still not super speedy but workable at least. although there's no getting away from the fact that old age has caught up with Larry. Anyway, I'm happy to be back, and goodness knows there's plenty to talk about.
Hopefully, one of the things I can talk about tomorrow is how the All Blacks won the Rugby World Cup title again. Until then, happy Halloween.

Even my newer computers are hopelessly out of date. My tablet loads pages more quickly than my desktop. I actually open the discussions in tabs, then go sit on the couch and knit until they are loaded. It's frustrating. Glad you have some of the problems sorted out.

@troyburns Talk to text or the swipe keyboard. But this site is not as mobile friendly, so it's harder to use a tablet to write here.

It sounds as though you have similar problems to me. I have a tablet which is good for research but I don't find it anywhere near as easy to use for writing. If my lappie continues to go downhill I'm going to need to get more acquainted with writing on the tablet, though.

I'm just hoping the darned thing doesn't die on me. That really would be a nightmare. I'm trying to back everything up in case it does happen.

Mine seem to have a speedy life of only a year or two before they start to be laggards. I do claan them up regularly but it doesn't seem to help much.

Mine's lasted about 7 years so far, with plenty of use in that time,so I probably shouldn't hope for too much.

Hi Val. What time does the match start? Hopefully I'll be a lot more active here now that my computer is working better. It's been frustrating not being able to write about a few things which have bugged me lately.

Welcome back, glad to hear Larry is okay now. Congratulations to NZ for winning the Rugby World Cup again!
