Hubby and I stood in the candy aisle, discussing the merits of the dazzling bags and boxes of sweets. A youngish man approached us. He wore a maroon colored hooded sweatshirt. He suddenly was there, eyeing us, talking fast, spilling out stuff about his need for gas money. He needed gas money so that he could get to a town about an hour distant. His wife had had a stroke. Should we trust him? Did he really have a need? He said there were cash machines when we said we did not have cash on us. He finally went away. Before we left the store I went to the help desk and told the clerk there about the guy. She looked startled at the news that a customer had been accosted in an aisle. She asked for a description and seemed about to enlist help. My hubby is a social worker. He said he did not trust the guy at all. He wondered if the young man had been on drugs and he hoped he got the help he needed.

He had alot of nerve coming to the aisles to ask for help that would sound desparate in its self he made the obvious gesture there a atm machine out front things that people will say to get help it was sad thats for sure.
