do apps help you or is just a waste of time?

On Monday, a mobile phone app that reports all things related to the trial of Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s personal doctor, was released. By Thursday, it had become a top seller. Did you or anyone you know buy it? Do you or anyone in your family use apps on your mobile phones? If so, what do they help you do?

I would not buy an app for news. I have a free rss reader which can do the job. I use it to collect rss feeds from various newspapers, and I can open the article in the browser to read it if I am interested.
