I was saddened to read that Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey needs to have "major" intestinal surgery. The recovery would have forced him to miss the Eagles' Kennedy Center Honors ceremony on December 6, so they have been rescheduled for next year.
This isn't his first surgery, either: the news reports said he had a lot of his intestines removed in 1990. He has chalked his problems up to the excesses he engaged in during the 70's.
I got to meet Glenn Frey in 1982, after I saw his first post-Eagles solo show in Philadelphia. His birthday is November 6 (he'll be 67), and I'm really sorry he's facing surgery so close to his birthday. Here's hoping his surgery is successful and he has a quick and complete recovery!
