Waiting for money to come

I am working on a 6 months contract job, and it will end soon.
I will get a completion bonus of half a month salary together with my December salary by the end of year.
I have booked a short 3 nights cruise for next year, and this completion bonus is enough to pay for the trip.
At around the same time, I will get the dividend from share investing.
It is not a big sum of money, though I am glad for whatever amount I get.
My investing strategy is for income. I have not planned well enough to get dividend every month.
This coming dividend will be the last one of the year, and it is about a week's salary.
I hope to get cashout from Mylot in December too. That will be an additional income source.
Waiting for money to come is a rather painful process.
The hour passes so slowly. I can see the money in my mind but it is not in the bank yet.

It's good to see many old members are coming back to here. I am just dropping by after someone had posted reply to one of my posts. I think the best is don't think too much about it. Just relax and do your daily job like usual, always hope for the best.

It sounds as though you have a good balance in your life. Will you pick up another contract job after you complete this one?

There is a likelihood that they will offer an extension for another six months.
When i took up this job, the agency did mention that it was a renewable contract.
I am waiting for them to confirm the renewal, and possibility of a salary adjustment.

@NeldaHoxie It is a mixture.
Many large companies hire staff on contractual basis, even the government hires staff on 2 years renewal contract basis.
However, many companies still have permanent jobs.
That does not mean permanent jobs are more secured than contract jobs.
When they do not need the extra headcount, they just pay you the notice period, and you have to leave.

@scheng1 is this typical in Singapore. Do people work under long-term contracts instead of permanent jobs.

When you know the date on which you will get your money there is no need to be anxious about it.

@scheng1 Yeah. Still a long way to go. Hopefully I will get a place for me. Space that is just enough, I don't really like very big houses.

It can be like pulling teeth sometimes - waiting on a payment to come through.
But as long as you know for sure that its coming you can really just sit back and relax.

I know for sure the money will come.
Mylot will definitely pay. That is not a problem.
My dividend income will come too, since it is over the ex-dividend date already.
My bonus will be given as long as I complete my contract. I do not think my boss will sack me since I have done nothing wrong.
