prey drive/cute kitty killer

That adorable fluff ball, that little kitty cat that yawns and winks and snuggles? Uh huh. There's a ticking bomb in that cat brain. Its called Prey Drive. I just found mouse parts in the yard. I immediately thought: Saia has been busy. Same with the dogs. High prey drive. I hate it but reality is reality. I also do my best to keep our hens quiet and not squawky. The dogs know not to bug those tame birds and yet I really don't want that prey drive to kick in. The dogs are a team. They see a neighbor cat running, they will kick into high gear, and in a heart beat, will be off like rockets, trapping the cat between them. Luckily for the cat there is a fence to zip behind. So far the cat has won.

It must be interesting all the prey about. The animals are onto their prey. Maybe you can train them to tidy up after themselves lolz

@TiarasOceanView I try to not see the rodent as a cutie who could be someone's pet. I try to just see it as a mess to clean up. Doesn't always work!

I don't know but even if I was attacked and bitten by a dog, I still love to cuddle/snuggle with our shitsu more than my daughter's cutie cat.

@antonbunot Its fine to not be a cat person. What's the name of your sweet dog?

yep in spite of being cute their nature is to hunt mice and vermin then so meitmes bring them to gift you too. No matter how loving they are tat the grim reality of cats lol lol but I love cats and dogs too. Cats own us we do not own them clever little fellpws indeed but they give a lot of love too so do dogs.

Cats are very efficient hunters of mice and birds. That prey drive always seems to be on high. I once had a family cat bring a mouse it caught into the kitchen while we were all eating. Interestingly, the mouse was still alive! At least it was until the cat was finished playing with it.
