It Is So Cold

I woke up this morning to temps of 36 degrees. What a shock to my system as I wasn't expecting that at all. This is the lowest it's been so far this season.
I have a doctor's appointment this morning at 9am and my brother is going with me. It's the same rheumatologist that I went to a couple of months ago. I know my primary doctor told me not to go back to him because he didn't seem to know what he was doing, but rheumatologists are scarce where we live. I haven't been able to find another one so far and I do have certain medications that I need that he prescribes for me. I am bringing my brother so that he can first, understand a little more about RA and second, back me up on how bad I have been feeling. I want to be put back on Enbrel as it worked so good for me when I lived in Vegas but this doctor is not convinced I have RA. He thinks every symptom I have is fibromyalgia. I know my body and I don't think he is right. So, there may be a little arguing going on this morning, especially having my brother with me.
I just looked down at my leg and I see a lot of blood and the top of my sock is soaked. Evidently when I was feeding Daisy and she jumped on me, she scratched me with her nails as they really need to be cut. So now off I go to tend to the cut and stop the bleeding. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

The only thing he has done so far is lab work. 1 out of 2 showed RA and he still says I don't have RA. I have been diagnosed by many doctors yet he says I don't have it. My brother nearly lost his temper with this doctor yesterday but didn't. I have to keep going to him until I find another rheumatologist. My brother said he was a quack and for me to see if I can see a doctor in Memphis which is about an hour and a half drive. As for the fibromyalgia, no there aren't any tests for it, only exams for the tender points.

@ThankyouLord yes it is as that is probably what people thought with me bleeding so much. I am on ibuprofen so that could be the reason I bled so much.

I hate it when some Doctors seem to think they know better we might not have a degree but we know our Body and when we have had the illness for years we know
For the first time in many Years I have found a great Doctor who actually cares and listens to me
Hope all goes well

hope it isn't something serious and also that the blood stops leaking soon. Impressed that you ignored it long enough to type up the news of it first.

@arthurchappell Thanks, it has healed just fine. It just bled for a while which might have something to do with some of the medication I am taking.

@JudyEv I really do as this doctor is a quack. I've never run across a doctor like this before, one who can't read an MRI report from the radiologist. My MRI shows I have arthritis in my hip. I have been told this by 3 different doctors. Yet this doctor says I don't have arthritis and when I questioned what the MRI report said, he said it just didn't make sense to him and that I don't have arthritis. Whenever I start to question him more, he changes the subject.

Oh dear Simone. Not a good day huh.
Sorry you have to go to that doc again. Sometimes there is no choices, know what you mean. Sorry to read about your cut too.
I hope the day goes somewhat okay for you.
It is cold here too supposed to snow later.

I went out this morning and was shaking. It said it was -5C, not ready for this type of weather yet.

We are having a cold spell today--only a high of 85 degrees!!! Even for us that is hot in November!

well, I hope there wasn't much arguing with the doctor this time, and he saw for once what is really bothering you. It's sad that there are no other options other than him for the time being, but I suggest you keep looking
I hope the bleeding stopped. Take care!

@ria1606roy Exactly! I wanted him to see for himself and know that it wasn't just me.

@simone10 (6412), Hope you get some good help from the doctor, and I get those scratches every now and then from my pets and even maybe bump into something and not even know it. We were working down at the church the other night, and my daughter came running over, she said I was bleeding. I remember hitting the chair, but didn't think it brough blood, but it did :;smiles:: so I cleaned it up, put a band-aid on it and I was good to go. :: smiles : I am always bumping into something. Have a great day, be careful out to see the doctor. Love you.

I wish I had good news about the doctor but I don't. My brother asked a lot of questions and the doctor when around the world and back but never really answered his questions. He says the doctor is arrogant and a quack and he wants me to see if I can find a doctor in Memphis which is about 1 1/2 hours away. Now I have to see which doctors my insurance will pay for in Memphis. I also seem to bump myself a lot and end up with cuts and bruises and most of the time I don't even remember how I got them.

We will be waiting to see how your appointment goes. If your primary care thinks this doctor is out of line, maybe he could prescribe the meds you need. The fact that enbrel was effective for you should in itself be a diagnosis.

The bleeding didn't last too long. I just had to keep both dogs away from it because they could smell the blood and their natural instinct was to lick the cut as that is what they do do themselves. I had to end up putting a bandaid on it.

When I saw 36 I thought blimey thats hot (96.8F)! I forget you are talking in Fahrenheit whereas in Europe and many other places we use Centigrade. Vegas is very hot in the summer months I wonder if you miss that? Good luck with your meds!
