Well, we are moving yet again and not into a house like we wanted. My brother is being transferred to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He brother works for an apartment management company and the company lost the contract with our current apartment complex. The new company will take over December 1st.
We have to move around the 30th of November and it is all happening too fast for us. Whenever we have moved in the past, we always knew way in advance. We are both trying to stay positive but are not really looking forward to moving so far north. I am not a fan of the cold anyway and although I do like snow, I know that Wisconsin gets a ton of it. But, we are trying to have a positive attitude about all of this especially since we have no choice if my brother wants to keep his job.
So, does anyone here live in Wisconsin or has anyone ever visited Wisconsin? We are trying to get an idea of what to expect so any input would be appreciated. I lived in Wisconsin briefly when I was a child but I remember nothing about it.

Wow, moving again? This is evidently not good news that you want to hear....I'm sorry you and your brother have to put up with it. I know that Wisconsin is an industrial place, nothing more. Maybe searching the net and seeing its official pages would help.
Just move with the flow and try to remain calm headed and positive, everything will work out, sure. Don't be too upset.

My impression of Wisconsin is positive. It has that Midwestern friendly sensibility (which I miss, living in California). But the accent is slightly unusual, and quite distinctive. Like Fargo with a dash of Brooklyn. I had a girlfriend from the Milwaukee suburbs. Pretty, bright, and sweet.

One of our BB friends is originally from Wisconsin but lives in Charleston, SC now. I am not sure she has come over here. Her name is Betty and she is a teacher. I visited Milwaukee once and it has lots of great things to see and do. I think it will be fun but a much different climate.

I was born there and now I'm in Alabama. For myself, the only good thing I can say about Wisconsin is the fall with the leaves turning. Very pretty. You may like it though. Good luck with the move and glad your brother still has a job.

I visited Wisconsin once, but it was during the summer and not very close to Milwaukee. You can try looking up their weather on the internet, some sites will show what the average weather for any month is. Good luck with the move and try not to stress out too much about it. I've moved a lot in the past, so I know that it won't be easy to not stress about it too much.
