Random Word Post – hypocrisy

I find a random word by flipping through a dictionary or using a random word generator and write a quick little post about it. # I was flipping through my dictionary and came across hypocrisy. The definition of it as “a pretending to be what one is not …” got me thinking. At what point do little white lies become hypocrisy? Years ago I dated a woman who was, shall we say, overly sensitive. She enjoyed cooking and I soon realized that whenever she cooked for me, I needed to take a bite and then – regardless of what I really thought – say that I enjoyed it. Because if I didn’t do that, she would feel insulted and it would begin a four hour argument. But does saying, “This casserole is wonderful,” really make me a hypocrite?

No you weren't being a hypocrite because you weren't pretending to be something you weren't. You were only pretending that her cooking was something that it wasn't.

No it meant that you cared about her feelings. I would never want anyone to eat something that they do not like.
