Youtube Of The Day - The Houghton Weavers – The Blackpool Belle

Preston, England
November 18, 2015 7:22pm CST
A song with special warm meaning for North England people who remember Wakes week holiday charabanc trips to Blackpool. The song captures the joys and memories of such trips and if I go to Blackpool now I can’t get this lovely song out of my mind. The Houghton Weavers are among the best folk bands we have. Arthur Chappell
Blackpool's Anthem, the Blackpool Belle by the Houghton Weavers, is set to video using segments from Blackpool's version of Britain's Best View.

I think a packed beach like that is my vision of Hell, whether it's Blackpool or Alicante or Cancun.

@arthurchappell Back in my childhood most of the popular beaches seemed to be crowded like in the video. By the way it is your fault that I didn't get to bed until dawn. I sat listening to a compilation of the best of this group. I shall have to come to your posts earlier in the day lol...
