Losing my mind

Sometimes I feel like I am losing my mind. Why? Well, my memory is terrible You would think when you do something long enough it would become a habit, right? Well, either that's not the case, or I just can't keep track of time. One of have many jobs is to pick up a school aged boy from school Tuesday-Friday and drop him off at his grandparents. I have been doing this since the beginning of school. I forget EVERYDAY!! Now, just to reassure you, I do set an alarm on my phone, so I do end up remembering at the time he needs to be picked up, and he does get picked up. Another job is to pick up a friend from work and take her home at 5. I've been doing this for about 5 months now. This I also forget, everyday. Up until today,I did not set an alarm, so yes, she would be sitting at work waiting for me, until she would eventually call. I would have many days feeling terrible. These are just two situations were I feel like I am losing my mind, there are many more. I also feel like I already wrote about this, but I can't remember if it was here or on the other site or just a thought in my head, so please forgive me. What do you do that makes you feel like you're losing your mind sometimes? Cause I know I'm not the only one losing my mind out there....

I sometimes forget stuff too, but the main time I think I'm losing mind, is when I try to understand any of her actions lol.

Oh my goodness I forgot my meds too. I have to set alarms for those too and sometimes I still forget. If it wasn't for my phone and alarms I'd be lost......

@babaraimc I actually used to have one. But I couldn't afford to pay for her anymore. :-( right now my best friend helps out a lot with reminding me with meds

Yeah notes are helpfully with certain things too. I make a lot of to do lists. I read somewhere that the biggest lie we tell ourselves is "I don't need to write that down"

@babaraimc I did. Studying was a stressful process it seemed. And I couldn't seem to remember anything. College was a hard time for me all together

That is true .Things to be remembered will just be replaced by another thoughts that are recent and exciting or tragic...

My contribution to your problem is have with you daily LIST so you'll just glance at them and put a check mark those done and X not done to avoid forgetting.Don't worry about thinking of many things our thoughts will not be affected for according to Albert Einstein, we can spend 70,000 thoughts everyday.

I think about memory loss these days cause of my Mom's issues. Will my current memory woes get worse like hers are??

I think it is known to run in the family but I don't know that for sure. I always worry about things my mom and grandma have so I try and take preventative measures now

I daily forget things. However, if I was forgetting something I'm supposed to be doing daily something which should become routine, then I would be VERY worried.

I am starting to get worried. I've mentioned my memory loss to my doctor but they don't take it seriously. They've mentioned it being ADD but they won't dignose me. So I might bring it up to my therapist and see what he says

Something that is routinely done should set a trigger automatically unless you are bogged down with issues that you are totally and fully engrossed in. May be a slight change in your approach to activities could help. You are not losing your mind.

I have a pretty good memory, so it is not so much that I forget stuff rather I get distracted easily. Once I am distracted I tend to lose track of time and when I look up I am surprised by how much time has gone by lol...

Could be simply a sign of aging, we all go through this.

My husband and I more and more rely on each other to help us get through each day without forgetting something important. We blame it on our age.
