Feels Holiday-ish Already, Doesn't It?

November 20, 2015 11:59am CST
Yesterday, my son said it already feels like a holiday. I had to agree with him. Perhaps it is the anticipation. Perhaps it's that we are already on holiday from all of our activities. Whatever the reason, it is making it hard to be productive. I'm the mom, the teacher, but I am DISTRACTED! Do you feel like it's the holidays already?

I'm in holiday mode already. Excited about Thanksgiving and starting my Christmas shopping. I can't wait to put up my Christmas tree but that has to wait until after Thanksgiving. I just can't give myself permission to put it up before we celebrate turkey day.

No, not really. I guess I need to get some other stuff done to feel productive. Then I can feel the "holidaze".

i think part of my unproductively is letting the festivities draw me in!

@AbbyGreenhill I was saying to another person i think it is because this is our birthday season at our house as well. so we have 5 birthdays between halloween and dec 22, plus the holidays. so it's just a very, very festive time around here. i'm glad it still feels that way to me. i lost my son unexpectedly on dec 31, so it makes the holidays very, very bittersweet. but he loved this time of year. so i have to keep loving it for him and for his memory

to me it is all one big holiday season from halloween until new years!

No, I am still not feeling that Holiday mood, even though our stores are full of Christmas. I suspect the closer it gets to December then I might get that holiday feeling.

I'm one of those crazy folks who are ready for christmas music the day after Halloween. I still enjoy Thanksgiving, but I like my thanksgiving to include Christmas music. ha ha

I am in a way, because I am getting prepared but I have The Boy's birthday coming up on Monday so we'll probably have to have two celebrations next week.

Yes I am feeling it. I'm already tired and haven't even started all the work that's associated with the holiday. Just thinking about it is wearing me out.

Since we don't have another holiday until Christmas, I am good right now. Our Thanksgiving was last month.

For all the non Thanksgiving countries, there's still a long stretch until Christmas.

I've been listening to Christmas music already but I don't know if I'm really in the mood for it yet. I guess that's because I'm a little stressed out this year.

Yes every store I go to has christmas stuff up already and nothing for thanksgiving, it's like their pushing it. I went shopping this past weekend and malls our already packed. I can definitely feel the spirit in the air.

Not at all. Our Christmas is always low key here, we enjoy summer for the season, not the holiday.

I'm aware of it playing in the background. But I'm trying not to let it distract me too much.

At least it feels that way online every time I hear the Nordstrom's Christmas dirge.
