Reward point fiasco...

We have one of those rewards cards for the gas station we shop at the most. Every purchase we make earns us points. We can redeem those points for discounts off gas or merchandise. Generally we use the points for discounts on gas. So I stopped yesterday morning on my way to work to get some gas. I went to the little kiosk, swiped my card, selected the $0.25 off per gallon discount. What happens next is the kiosk prints a receipt which I take to the register. They ring up my gas, scan the receipt, and I pay for my purchase. Well yesterday when the kiosk printed the coupon, it came out blank. So they could not give me the discount. The manager came over to see what the problem was. It seems someone loaded the receipt paper into the printer wrong so it wasn't printing. They fixed it, but they could not reprint my receipt to give me the discount. It took them a good 15 minutes to figure all this out, meanwhile I had to be to work! I ended up leaving without getting any gas as they couldn't give me the discount and I was annoyed that I was running late because of their error. They took my info and said they'd call the company to try to get my points returned to me so that I could redeem them later. So while on lunch I stopped at a different location for gas. The points had been returned and I had a coupon loaded on my phone for $0.25 off per gallon... so I actually got a free coupon because of it. I got my gas with a discount, and hubby also used a discount on his gas as well. So in the end it all worked out, but I was still annoyed that my day had to start off this way.

There is nothing like having to start a day like that, when nothing right seems to happen.

Well the rest of the day went allright, thankfully. Hubby said he actually had a really good day.

@katsmeow1213 That's good. It seems like whenever I have overslept, the whole days seems like I am trying to play catch up.

@simone10 I don't typically oversleep, plus I give myself so much time in the morning that oversleeping wouldn't affect my schedule anyway.

What was most annoying was I kept telling them they were making me late for work and they just said sorry and kept trying to mess with the machine. Geez, just give me my discount and let me go!

Very interesting. We get credit every time we buy gas too..never had a problem.

I discovered that I can just download the coupons on my phone and they can scan them that way. I think I'll do that from now on so I don't have to worry about an employee loading the paper wrong!
