I Had to Return My New Glasses

A few days ago, I wrote about how my new glasses were not working for me. Well, I went back to the eye doctor to get my eyes re-checked. He changed my prescription, but said it was only “slightly different,” from the one that wasn’t working for me. In comparing the two, I noticed that, while the other numbers were similar, the axis part seemed significantly different.
I bought my glasses at Costco, and had used their in-house optometrist for the first time. The re-exam and remaking the glasses was free, but I did have to drive 50 miles to the store, and had to do without my glasses for a week. I had them ship the remade glasses to me, so I would not have to go back a fourth time.
I got my new glasses the night before last, via UPS. As soon as I put them on, I could tell that they were way better. I can see very well now, and it took me no time to get used to my new glasses. I am so glad I stuck with it, and had my glasses redone.
Have you ever had to return your new glasses?

I have bought my last 2 pairs before this from Costco, and they were the best I ever had. However, I went to my own optometrist to get the prescription, and only had it filled at Costco. The glasses are half the price of ordering through the eye doctor.
I no longer have eye insurance, so I chose to go the the in house optometrist for the first time. I don't know if this is a common problem with that.
If she has a problem, she should go back and get them to make it right. That is a lot better than putting up with glasses that don't work for you.

I never do it. Actually, I have to wear glasses, but I do not do it, because I do not comfortable when wear glasses, whereas my eyes need it.

There are two possibilities, your glasses are not right for you, or you do not wear them long enough to get used to them. I was the same, I only put my glasses on when I needed to read something. Now, I can't see well enough to get along without them, so I have to wear them all the time.

@norcal Actually, my glasses are right for me, but I do not wear them long enough to get used to them. Since, I resign from my work in a private company, I never wear it anymore. So far, I still comfortable read something without glasses, so I never wear it.

I probably could have gotten by with the other glasses, it was the signs on the freeway that were a little blurry. I don't know, the doctor said I was "testing different" that day from the last time. They go by what you say looks the best. Maybe this is something that happens sometimes? Either I was seeing different that day, or the test was off.

Sorry about the hassle and headache. Atleast the re-exam was free. I think I had to get mine redone once when I was a little girl but it
has been so long ago that I can't rightly recall.

When I picked them up I questioned whether they were right, but the guy suggested that I try them for a few days. I think they always say that. A lot of people probably just make do with whatever they get I think. I would definitely recommend that anybody who is not completely satisfied go back for a recheck. Your eyesight is too important to settle.

@norcal Not to mention the literal headache that comes from impromper eyewear. You are right that they always say "wait a few days." I think
it's because you do normally have to adjust to the new glasses.

It always annoys me when we drive some distance for something and then have to do the tip again because something wasn't quite right. I think I would find it difficult to be without my glasses for a week.
