47 million people on the roads this week in the USA...

...and I am glad I won't be one of them! Lot of people who have not taken a Thanksgiving road trip to Grand-mom's house in years will be dong so this year. Why? One reason is the price of gas. It has not been as low as it is now in many years. One reason is the price of gas. In our area gas has dropped 11 cent in the past week. Prices are 65 cents a gallon cheaper than this time a year ago. People are feeling good about traveling by car while long lines at security checks at the airports and the threat of terrorism makes driving a better option than flying. I am not a flyer and have no reason or desire to fly. Whatever your mode of transportation, be safe! Drive carefully and keep an eye on those other 47 million people you will be sharing the roads with.

I used to worry about weather patterns at Christmas. Many times we left Jersey to head home and ran into horrible snow storms in VA.

I am not going to be traveling this year either. I did hear that a TON of people will be traveling though so I am praying for safe travels for those who will be going somewhere.

And I hope they wear seatbelts and don't text/talk/eat while driving.

That is a lot of people to be on the roads for the holiday. I just hope they won't be drinking and driving.

I am glad that it's not a holiday in Europe, it's a dark moment now to travel, very dangerous.

@AbbyGreenhill Yes, we went to the Mexico border when we visited San Diego, but did not cross the border.
