OK Then...Now I'm Really Confused.

When someone starts a "discussion" and I read it, then I "hover" over the hidden words and I find "response" but not "comment." When I read another person's "response" to that same discussion and "hover" over the hidden words, I find "comment" but not "response." So there is a difference. However, I guess my question is: Just for the sake of distinguishing one word from the other: Do we get paid for "responses" or "comments" or BOTH? I printed out the "How To Use MyLot" information and I'm going to read that thoroughly and see if I can find the answer to my own question. In the meantime, I would appreciate your view of the matter.

It's really very simple. When you read a discussion topic and want to make your views known, you are responding to the discussion owner. When you read a response and want to say something about it, you are commenting on the response, not directly replying to the discussion itself. The same is true when you comment on a comment. In order to make this clearer, comments are indented below the response they relate to.

OK Seems simple enough. I did go and read the entire "How to use MyLot" section. Thanks for your input.

Well I would say you get paid for all, or for how busy you are here. Actually, unless someone responds to your discussion it likely will not earn. In the "new" myLot I have not really got a clue for sure. I just know that the more people I visit with the better my earnings and it is not necessarily the more discussions I start.

Well, I enjoy STARTING discussions. I'm a writer and I like to WRITE about all sorts of things. So far, I have been receiving a FAIR amount of responses so I will continue to write. But, I have also tried to comment on other discussions and responses and I also enjoy doing that. I just realized that I've already "earned" $1+ and that was quicker than what I was earning on the B site, so I'm happy about that. lol

I have absolutely no idea why they aren't both called 'comment'.

I guess there is a slight difference in the two words and now I understand that small difference. My question that still hasn't been answered, however, is what do we get paid for doing on this site. I know we don't get paid for starting (posting) a discussion. Do we get paid for "responses" OR "comments" or BOTH or neither?

@IreneVincent I think the official line is that we get paid for interacting - but who really knows what that means. If it feels good, do it, and the money will probably follow.

@IreneVincent I actually don't know which type of interactions get paid. I post a discussion every other day or once in three days and I don't get a lot of comments/responses on my discussions but I can still see that my bank increases. But i do comment on other discussions a lot.

For me, it doesn't matter for as long as I can leave a response

I think the engagement that we put on people's discussion will be helping each other on earning. For example, I start a discussion, and I love to join other discussion, and as @GardenGerty say the more people she visits the better her earnings. That is because she has been contributing a lot of responses on the discussions of other. and I do think it will have some good results from the searching in the "People" category. Yeah, we make friends and we love to talk, and share with friends about things that we know right. This is still the value of Mylot I think

It looks like you got all the answers from the other posters. I think I knew that but was actually a little confused by your question. A lot of things have been confusing me lately. Perhaps I've got a problem. LOL!

You will be paid both for your (quality ) responses and comments. It is entirely up to you whether you want to write new discussions as you are a writer or you want to post your comments on the discussions started by others. More you interact here, more you are likely to earn.

hi@IreneVincent we res pond to discussions and comment on the rfesponses is the way I understand it and we earn by the responses we ge t t hat we c omment on also responding to others discussions pays you too. so interacton is the name of theearnings game.
