The Great Sneak-Around

Occasionally when I was young, my parents and I would find a neighbor who was in need and we'd creep up on them at night, during the holidays, and leave gifts at their door. One night it was a box of Satsuma mandarins back when you could still get those, as well as other things we found for them. I remember looking out the back window of our trailer, eagerly awaiting the moment where they'd open their door and find the gifts. For a couple of years now I've left small bags on my lonely, single neighbor's door - with no note other than perhaps a holiday greeting. Just a couple things that are easy to tell they haven't been tampered with. A couple oranges, a small box of candy, that kind of thing. Sometime I'd like to do this more. I love the idea of them having no way to know where their unexpected bounty came from. Have you done this too? Would you like to, someday?

that is super cool, have never done that, but have bought something for someone and left it for them just in general, or I have paid a bill off anonymously. If I was closer to Ms Hatley, I'd sneakily leave her a keyboard!

I know, right? I know a lot of folks online I'd be that way with.

When my daughter was young we lived in a 4-plex(four apartments in one building.)and there was one older lady that never seemed to have visitors go where. My daughter noticed it and said something to me. So we started leaving her something on her step.

I have done that usually with fresh baked goodies or flowers to lift their spirits.

Isnt that such a nice gesture! I have never done this but it is a great idea. We need more people like that out in the world. If I ever got something like that on my door step I would surely pay it forward and it would make me feel so good someone took the time out to do such a nice thing

It's a lot of fun to do! And it doesn't have to even cost much.
