My husband is a crook!

A week ago I found a nickle in the washing machine. I know it came out of my husband's pants since I don't carry change around in mine. I put the nickle on top of the dryer and left it there. A little while ago I noticed a lot of lint dust on top of the dryer so I asked my husband to check and make sure the the vent was firmly attached to the dryer. He looked and said it was fine. He got out the vacuum cleaner and attachments and vacuumed up all the lint/lint dust from in back of the dryer. I didn't feel a need to supervise, he's handy with a vacuum! I just went in to get towels out of the dryer and noticed that the nickle was gone. I asked if he took it and he said that was his tip for vacuuming. I told him it was my tip for washing his dirty clothes!

The rule in our home was this. We all had to empty our pockets before we threw our clothes in the wash. Anything left in them belonged to the one washing clothes. I use to get rich washing clothes and my brothers and sisters use to complain. I always made sure I had everything out of my pockets.

My husband usually doesn't leave a penny anyplace it shouldn't be and Ruby doesn't wear clothes so I will never get rich doing wash.

@AbbyGreenhill I am so sorry to hear this one. I did win 20 dollars one time. But it was for my brother and money he collected to pay the bill for papers he delivered. I gave this back to him and he was very surprised. He thought it fell out of his pocket. He delivered papers daily and I felt bad to keep his money. But I always kept the small change.
