While reading posts lately, i have noticed that on the right hand side of the page is a column "you might also like". I have decided to take my cue from there and choose some of the posts that obviously the connection whom I am interacting with, finds interesting. This can save time in doing the Exploring run . . . . I presume that is how that list is made up, or is there another way the list of "you might also like" is put together?

The list is made up following the tags you used in your discussion.

And what if a person does not use a tag?

@rebelann Your posts will never appear on the right under "You might also like..:"

They're based on the tags used on the discussion. Like this one, you didn't use any tag word and I don't see a list of "You Might Also Like".

@Inlemay As soon as you did, the list of discussions (recent as well as older ones) using the same tag words showed up.

I think they are on the same topic or have some words or tags in common or so it seems to me.

I wonder what happens when the author of a discussion doesn't use a tag.

The "You Might also like" is a post which corresponds to the similar discussions to the the one your are on at present!! Usually these are older post( and I mean atleast an year old) ... I like responding to them, but most of the users have left the account so the chances of getting a discussion started again gets very less!!

Oh so they are older posts - i read them anyway, but i must say that the ones I have chosen are people that are still current as they have answered my responses. Luckily for me then.

@Inlemay This is what I found too. The really old posts don't elicit any responses.

I've opened some of those from time to time but looking at the dates, some are very old.

You might also like is based on the tags in the discussion you're viewing. some of those might be older, and some might be newer.

I have seen that, but never really looked at it, I guess it is discussions using the same tags perhaps
