Are we losing our holiday spirit? We went downtown this morning, and looking for a new wedding band for us. the place was very quiet and I mean quiet. The retailers have come to rely on a big shopping frenzy at the end of the year. they feel there is a holiday bump, and appear to be shrinking. This is the feelings that I got being down town.No frenzy there. How about in your area. Are they feeling this?

Maybe it is too early for the Christmas spirit to show.

I think people are shopping more online. There will still be increased activity at the malls. I think people still have Christmas spirit - they just start later.

@amadeo Not me - I do not like crowds. I shop mostly online except for food.

I think people are so short of money they buy their gifts after christmas in the sales. It is a shame as it takes away the christmas spirit , then of course their is online shopping as well. Because of my achilles injury most of my shopping has been online so far. I will go into town just for a hobble around to get the spirit a bit more.

I had to go out shopping this afternoon and it was mental out there! It took me 2 hours in what should have been an hour at most!
