When are you most creative?

I was thinking about whether being an early bird or a night owl brings out the most creativity. I know for me, while I may prefer to sleep in, I am at my best when I awake early and get started with my day. Of course, caffeine or a protein drink may be what I need to get going; however, once I am alert, my mind can focus on new ideas and directions.

Nothing like caffeine to get you going in the morning.

I definitely have more energy in the morning. I am really most creative when taking pain pills.

I get creative at different times, and sometimes a picture could spark a creative thought or a memory could too.

I agree with you about pictures sparking thoughts. There a lot of things that can catch our attention such as a commercial, a song, a book, something that someone else sees. That is the key to be aware of what is around us and allow ourselves to use those sparks to motivate us.

Although I am a night owl, I am most productive first thing in the morning. That's why I usually skip the morning chat at the water cooler and sit down at my desk and get straight to work! Everyone thinks I'm being anti-social, but I want to get things accomplished before my brain settles down and loses that edge!

I believe that you are not the only one.. There are some at my office that are only social in the morning and you don't hear a peep out of them the rest of the day. We have flexible work start times so if you come in later, others have already started working.

I have always been a night owl. I love the night. (I'm a vamp fan- go figure) It started when my daughter was a child. I would wait until she was in bed and I had time to myself. Now she is grown and I am retired. I quite often get into what I am writing and find that I have stayed up all night.

It depends what kind of creativity you ask of me. If it's calm day persona then it's one result. If it's insane night persona, then it's completely different. Lately I have merged them and every thought that is a major one is god-tier. Of course, I like the antagonist role in my current thought topics, so I tend to be the bad guy in the creative world, though I have good intentions.
