I want to sign for Amazon Prime. I have questions that I searched on the Internet but can't get real answers. Do you need a credit card to sign for the free trial? Can I stream the movies and videos through a digital TV that has no cable or satellite or anything? If I got a Roku, would that work. I can't get a smart TV now. Is the $99 worth it. I want to shop and the postage etc. is more than the item sometimes? And, I don't want to wait long times to get the item(s) I want. I want real answers from the people on here who have used Amazon Prime now or recently. Thanks.

I have prime but I can't remember about giving a credit card but I assume I did - since if you don't cancel after 30 days they bill you. They can't bill you w/o a credit card. I don't stream anything - I shop and I get cheaper prices and free shipping. To me it is worth it. I just ordered a $6 frisbee and got free shipping - the shipping on that would have been more than the frisbee so I wouldn't have bought it with out prime. Do you have a problem giving them a credit card? Have you started to sign up to see for yourself?

@akalinus Well, my dis. card number was stolen and and it only needs to be 'out there' in one place or on your computer to be stolen. If you shop online you have to give it. People who shop on line take that chance. And your information, all of it, on your card can be stolen very easily w/o you putting it out there. I guess you need to decide if prime is that important.

@akalinus That's a risk we all take every day.

@AbbyGreenhill It really peeves me because I have the money in pay pal but they won't take it. I hate leaving my credit card. You never know what someone will charge on it.

Well, I've been a client of theirs just under a year and the reason I love it is because I get to watch streaming TV and then if I want to buy something I can usually find it available under PRIME which saves me the shipping cost. Yes, you'll have to use a credit card, it's usually a given with any online service like this.

Why don't you ask Amazon directly? I've always found that they respond quickly.

I really don't know how to reach them. I had some emails on file but it was always the no reply kind. If you have an email for them for customer relations or whatever, please share.

@akalinus If you go to the site of amazon.com, you find the word 'Help' in the bar at the top. From there you're led to the section you need.

@MALUSE I have been thinking about it and they will show themselves in their best light. I really want to know how real Prime users actually like it or not. I want to hear their experiences whatever they are.

Well I signed up for the free trial so I could get the items I was purchasing faster and I forgot to cancel it at the end of the free period and so they charged me $99 which I was upset about. If you order fro amazon a lot then it is worth it, if you just occasionally order through there like me its way too much and not worth it. Yes you will have to put a credit card on file and so they can charge it when you dont decline after the offer
