I am reading old posts: mylot has changed.

I began my day commenting on the answers to my last post. I then noticed the old posts about the same subject at theright side of the scree. I was curious. There were several posts about dehydrating food. Good! I said, more knowledge! But the posts had one or two answers and those were not answers that would help me. Answers were more of applause than ideas that could create a thread of conversation. So this is my turn to applaud. I am applauding at mylot. This is a site were we are exchanging opimions that matter now. We are learning about our friends from other lands and I bet many of you do, as I do: go to the internet after a post to learn even more. Thanks to mylot and to my friends here, I have become part of a bigger world. How about you?

@marguicha,What I have noticed is that generally discussions on light topics attract more responses.

Some of them. And to some people, of course.

@else34 I'm drawn to lighter topics rather than those about politics etc I have enough stress in my own daily life that I would rather engage in a light hearted topic

@Marilynda1225 I don´t talk usually about politics or religion. But we can talk about anything in such a way that we learn about other people

Yes, Mylot is really a place for both serious discussions and trivial. I think there are more trivial than serious discussions, and that is natural. All of us are tired after whole day of schooling or working, and the last thing we want to discuss is climatic change or scientific breakthrough.

I don´t mind light subjects. Even they have something interesting.

@scheng1 sometimes reading a discussion about trivia is just what we need to balance all the other things that are going on in real life.

Mylot has changed quite significantly since the early days. I often scroll back through older posts and have commented on some from as far back as 9 years ago, but I never consider the ones shown to the right of the screen.

@marguicha There were a fair number of rather puerile comments made back in those days because the earnings system was quite different. Members used to be paid for what they wrote, so many would write anything or deliberately stretch a comment out in order to increase the volume.

@Asylum Was it here that the site had to put an end to people answering with a lot of dots? Or was it at Bubblews?

I got curious with a post about dehydrated food that was 9 years old, but there was just one uninteresting comment. I still have not been able to discover if some of my old friends are still here.

Sometimes I open the discussions on the right side. Many of those discussions are very old and sometimes I recognize the names of members who left a long time ago. I have been here since 2008. Many changes have happened since that time, but myLot is still a great site. I am very interested in other countries and cultures and it is always interesting to meet people from around the world and learn more about their countries

I think the change in the earnings system has changed a lot about how people participate.

I´m sure about that. And it seems that the way this works has make most of the spammers stay away from it.

This is my first experience with myLot but from what I've been hearing it's changed quite a bit. I do like the interaction here with discussions. Some days I can lost in just one topic and lots of comments within that discussion

I think that the best of the new mylot is that we interact a lot more. It doesn´t matter so much if the discussion is light or not. But we can discuss about it.
