Betty Boop and so I did some research on here. She came into popularity in 1930 when Max Fleischer, a famed animator of the time, created her. She starred in more than 100 cartoons and there is about 13 hours of her on film. The average length of a cartoon film is about six to eight minutes long, each second of film is comprised of 24 frames. She is the only female cartoon star who is not used for the "foil for a male", being a independent woman who once said "I can do anything a man can do." She has appeared in two comic strips, two network animated musical specials and a radio show. Eleven different women were used in her characterization from 1930 to 2008. A boyfriend, Fearless Fred, was introduced in 1935. The garter she always wore on her left leg was taken off one time early on but due to demand from the public it was brought right back. Popeye danced the hula with Betty Boop in his first appearance in a Betty Boop short entitled 'Popeye the Sailor' Betty Boop fans are called Boopaholics and there are several fan clubs around the country.

My aunt-in-law loves all things Betty, I guess making her a boopaholic, I think she is a bit cute, but never saw the huge appeal, but with an attitude that pushed her to do anything she wanted, I can the generation in their 60-80s now finding her pretty cool.

I love Betty Boop cartoons - she was used in an early promotional film for the song Minnie The Moocher with a live action Cab Calloway - a very innovative mx of live action and animation

I find it hard to believe that anyone would like Betty Boop. I have been an avid fan of cartoons for over 60 years and still enjoy them today, but you have managed to find one of the very few that I really dislike. I am far happier watching something like Scooby Doo or Wacky Races.
