Spoiler alerts - season 5 episode 16 Most employees would be delighted to be told that they have a lot of vacation time overdue and that they must take paid leave ASAP, but workaholic Physics professor Sheldon Cooper does everything he can to avoid taking his compulsory holidays. After failing to get Leonard to smuggle him into work in disguise, he tries to get temporary work as an assistant to his girlfriend, Amy, but he is terrible at the job and drives her crazy through his intrusion to her laboratory. Amy is also strongly involved in the sub-plot where she and Penny assist Bernadette in writing wedding guest invites, and here it is Amy who gets irritating to others by trying to take charge. Bernadette has suggested that she and husband to be, Howard, make a pre-nup contract, which causes friction when Leonard rather coldly tells Howard about it. However, Howard is OK with the idea. Penny ultimately helps everyone apologize and calm down OK. We get the first description of Penny's Dad being a scary retired cop here before we meet him in a few episodes time. Arthur Chappell

@arthurchappell ...Yes, it is. Too bad you don't enjoy it. I find their brand of silliness entertaining.

it is a good one - more recent episodes are proving a disappointment though

Sheldon works as a character precisely for not being like anyone else - he is quite unique in his outlook on life

Big Bang Theory is one of my favourite TV series. Sheldon Cooper being my favourite character of all time. His dysfunctional social skills appear to be appealing to me. I haven't seen this episode but I'm pretty sure this isn't the latest cause the last I've seen Howard and Bernadette are already married and Sheldon and Amy have broken up.

this is set about three seasons before the ongoing Sheldon-Amy split which I expect they'll resolve before long, possibly at the end of the season.

@Jessicalynnt I think they were startled that I didn't offer to stay anyway - my lack of company loyalty was very apparent to them

I love Big Bang Theory, and replayed it all in my mind while reading.
