Making the bed nearly killed me!

I don't know if you find it easy to make a bed it is not one of the chores I enjoy doing the most. Last week I had a flu type bug and I am still suffering in silence. This morning I changed the beds when I got up and put the quilt cover, sheets and pillow cases into be washed.
This evening I remade the beds. Oh boy it was nearly the life of me. I am still achy from lifting the quilt which is the heavy duty one now it is winter and felt like it weighs a ton.
My wife has been out to a baby shower with my daughter so I did this while she was out so she does not have to do it when she comes home. But boy did I regret it. I had to go and have a sit down for five minutes to catch my breath back.
That will teach me to be so clever.
Do you like making beds or do you like me end up wrestling with putting the quilt cover back on?

The first thing my husband and I do every morning is make the bed together. It is so much easier when two people do it! Changing the sheets, though, can be time consuming and hard work!

Yes especially when you are feeling a bit under the weather!

I used to have issues with the quilt cover, but not any more. I turn the quilt inside out and put my arms in and take hold of the 2 corners of the quilt and the cover, then simply shake it briskly to turn the cover back over.
When I first encountered this trick I was amazed at how effective it is.

That is the same method I use but the quilt feels extra heavy at the moment.

@garymarsh6 Have you tried reducing the gravity in the bedroom until after the quilt cover has been fitted?

Good man. I was just trying to be smart and kind much to my detriment. Somethings just need two people to make it easier.

We have a super king size bed (no we are no rich it was gifted to us) so trying to change the duvet cover on that thing is a nightmare I get so frustrated doing it. Luckily the fitted sheets are made so they go right down the base so at least they are easy enough as they don't pop off x

Yes King size is quite a feat to put together although some chamber maids in hotels seem to manage it perfectly but then I guess if they are changing about 40 beds a day they will have perfected the art.

@garymarsh6 Yes I guess if you do it all day it must get easier although I do wonder how they manage x

I don't have anyone to help make the bed so it's quite an ordeal for me when it comes times to changing the sheets. I also have a heavy comforter and a blanket which need to be removed and then put back on once the sheets are done. I can sympathize with you on how difficult it is to change the bed by yourself.

Sounds like a good idea. I am about to head off there now!

We gave up with fitted sheets and reverted back to flat sheets which are much easier to put on,

I don't know, but ever since I was a kid, I remember my mama always yelling at me because I don't make my bed. I just don't like doing it . Changing quilt cover is a heavy task for me because I am very short and quilts are always huge :D
