we all know that, walking/jogging daily has many good benefits like keeping ourselves healthy, weight will be in control, good for heart and more over we get rid of laziness and feel more energetic. However despite of knowing all the benefits still many of us fail to make it as our daily routine. When I think of our predecessor generations (like in my grand parents time) I can definitely say that there is no need of making walking as separate activity at that time, as they are more into physical work. However, Today we live in materialistic world, with all the electronic devices around, which leaves us very lesser chances of doing physical work (coming to myself I sit before computer not less than 12 hours a day I guess) and hence there is very little chance for our body to burn enough calories daily unless we indulge ourselves in some sort of physical activity like walking/jogging I myself consider as the laziest person coming to physical exercises, I used to wake up late in the morning and rush to office at the earliest possible and daily routine continues till late evening and on return from office, I sit back working on my laptop till late night and again waking up late in the morning... Around 3 months back I realised that I am overweight and I am even shocked when one my relatives whom I met after long time asked me whether I was suffering from any health problems which made me fat. Even my family members were worried that I am putting on weight day by day, I am not even married, but looking as much aged than what I was actually. Then I started my research on how to loose weight and interestingly I came to know several facts of how worse situations will lead to, if we are over weight and not health conscious, then I changed my daily routine slowly, started jogging every day along with some other exercises as well. Then I came to know how difficult it is to loose weight, once we neglect about our health. Finally, now I lost enough excess weight and able to maintain good fitness, I discontinued some of the exercises, but I never skip on walking/jogging on my treadmill daily in the morning, it makes me feel energetic. When I think of my past, I really feel myself very lucky for the way I realised myself before it had gone worse and able to overcome the situation. Now I am ready for marriage and I have no concerns about being fat I know most of you are not lazy like me, but still just want to remind that "walking/jogging as our daily routine makes us healthier and feel energitic"

I think that sometime people over do their exercise and so they get tired and bored with it. They stop and/or do something else. I used to jog 7.5 miles one way about 5 times a week. I was about 120 pounds and felt great. Then life got in the way. I am now over weight and feel horrible. Life is great!

I think its better you start it once again, do think of it. Jogging of 7.5 miles about 5 times a week is pretty high i guess, its better you start of with 2 miles a day or whatever comfortable to you and continue it without break, you can certainly get rid of over weight

@Tirumalesh ...Yes, it would be good for me. I hope to get some done in warmer weather. Getting rid of a few pounds would be nice.

@enlightenedpsych2 ...Exercise does help a person get to sleep. I don't think life is good in a state of being overweight, bored and depressed. But, in my case anyway, I just don't care. It's sort of a vicious cycle.

I agree initially you may feel pain when you do excess but if you gradually increase any exercise including jogging and that too without any breaks in between you dont feel any pains, if you give breaks and not regular you may feel pains
