I got a surprise call from one of my son's teachers at school yesterday. She had nominated him for a prestigious honor at his middle school, and he was voted in by all the other teachers.
This morning, my son will be getting elected into the Hall of Fame for his school! It is such an honor, as only two students per year are elected in! My son doesn't know he is getting the honor, but this morning is the ceremony and he is going to be quite surprised!
I am very proud of my son, who now joins his sister in the Hall of Fame! She was elected in four years ago. It makes me feel good to know that both of my children will now be enshrined forever in the school's Hall of Fame!
I can't wait to see my son's picture hanging up on the wall at the school along with all the other Hall of Famers from the past. It is quite an honor, and he is so deserving of it (sorry, it was my parental duty to brag about my child).

@moffittjc lol I would be bragging too! A big congratulations to both your son and daughter! I know it was a while ago now but I’m sure it’s something that will be remembered forever. Your children really have been raised well.

Yes, I was able to take time off of work this morning to attend the ceremony! He was so excited to win the award! All his teachers were telling me what a wonderful student he is! Makes me so proud!

@moffittjc Good you were able to attend the awards. A lady asked to borrow my programme at a jazz festival once. She was anxious to know when a particular group were playing. I couldn't stop myself saying 'my son plays double bass with them'. Proud mama!

Thank you! I am very proud of my son and all his accomplishments, and for all the hard work he puts into school! I am also proud that he has become quite the gentleman, even at age 12!

I just try not to be one of those parents who brag about their kids 24/7. No kid is perfect, not even mine, so I try not to spend every waking moment telling everybody else how good they are! But, I give praise where praise is due, and this is one instance where my son deserve praise!
