A sad childhood memory.

I remember when I was eight years oldd I had a boy that was my best friend. He was also eight years old. We were playing and having fun the day before and the last think I remember about that day was the two of us sticking our tongues out at each other. We both yelled see you tomorrow and he left to go home. That night he had went to the pool to go swimming by himself. The pool was closed but he climbed over the fence. He was found face down in the pool the next morning. I was so sad when I found out that he had done something like that.

It is a terrible experience and some of us are so young that we really don't realize at the time that we will never see them again. Sorry that had to happen to your friend.

@jstory07 It sounds like it was a good thing sticking your tongues out at each other and you are keeping him alive in your memories.

I lost a friend when I was 7, he was 9 and he drowned as well, he fell through the ice on the pond we both lived on. It is something we never get over.

That is very sad - and awful for a young child to be involved in.
