Time for a warm batch of cookies

When it comes to cookies, my favorite kinds are different when I'm getting them from the store versus having home made ones. At the store I think my favorites are wafer cookies, whether it's the little tubular ones with chocolate or frosting in the middle, or the brick shaped ones that are like triple decker sandwiches. I have also discovered a passion for mint Oreos or their store brand equivalent. And I do like Grasshoppers but I don't have them much. Home made cookies are a different story. I like oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, I absolutely adore almond flour cookies, snickerdoodles are great and so is gingerbread. Not only that, but I will actually eat home made sugar cookies. I've been spoiled by having the real thing, made with butter at home, so I won't eat any other kind. And then there are these little jam filled things my mom makes... So, what's your favorite kind?

@Rohvannyn there's nothing like warm homemade cookies right out of the oven. I like chocolate chips, santas whiskers, snickerdoodles....

@Rohvannyn it's an icebox cookie you mix red and green candied cherries in the dough roll it into a long tube, roll the tube into coconut, wrap it with plastic wrap , place in fridge for about an hour, take out slice and bake.

We experimented with an ancient grain over the holidays, and made Spelt and applesauce muffins, spelt chocolate chip cookies and banana bread !

Neat! They sound tasty. I haven't done anything with spelt yet, though I've tried millet and quinoa. Millet's easy to grow from birdseed, by the way.

I am supposed to eat Millet and since I never tried it, what does it remind you of, what texture or prominent flavor might I expect ? Oh the applesauce spelt muffins were kind of bland since I used unsweetened organic applesauce and no sugar cept for one heaping tablespoon of brown, they were not sweet treats just coffee dunking muffins ! @Rohvannyn I do love my Quinoa though, like grits for some, I add grated mozzarella, or turmeric, or chives and onions or once fully cooked, drizzle Rosemary n Olive oil on top and just dive right in !

@enlightenedpsych2 Millet has a light, slightly nutty flavor. That's all I recall about them, really. Your quinoa sounds really, really delicious! I'll need to try it sometimes.

I'd never be able to pick a favourite. I do like ginger bread and short bread at Christmas. I like oatmeal chocolate chip year round. But there are many others I like. All home made.
